Drops of Symbiotic Interactions

Circ2M

According to biology Lynn Margulis ”Life did not take over the globe by combat, but by networking”

Symbiosis is any type of a close and long-term biological relationship between two different biological organisms. Trough the performers relations, performance views four different types of symbiosis: parasitism, commensalism, amensalism and mutualism. Each type has their own rules that define the relationship between the two performers.

Parasitism – parasite benefits and harms the host
Mutualism – each species has a net benefit
Commensalism – the other one benefits and does not significally harm or help the other
Amensalism – the other causes a harm to another without knowing it and does not benefit

On stage will be seen four scenes, where each of the scenes takes a closer look to one type of the symbiosis. Besides the performers ropes play an important role in reflecting the typical physical bond between species while in a symbiotic relationship. Rope is utilized in different forms to bring out the inner core of the symbiosis types. As a result, you will see an innovative and a dance like contemporary circus piece where the interactions between performers play the most important role.
