A metallic cube stand alone in the middle of a park. You open one of its heavy doors, and as you step inside, a soft breath of misty air surrounds you. You have entered the labyrinth.
Underneath, a new art experience by Recover Laboratory, invites you to come under the ground and into yourself. It is an unforgettable, absurd journey to all things humane and being a human, set in a public shelter in Meilahti, Helsinki. Here, you can escape the heavy weight of reality into a parallel dimension, underneath everything.
The artwork takes the form of a labyrinth under the ground. It is filled with art, circus, theater, sound, light, video, music and anything else. All the individual artworks come together underneath the ground and underneath the skin, and create an ever-expanding holistic world, where everything is important.
Everyone enters this cave alone. But worry not! These creatures are among the kindest you could ever find. Underneath is a secure space, where you can really be alone with only your thoughts. Only this exact moment exists, and alongside it an eternal fascination.

RECOVER LABORATORY
Underneath is the fourth full scale artwork by Recover Laboratory. The powerful art experiences by Recover Laboratory have been seen before for example in waste water treatment plants in Helsinki and Turku, in old stone tunnels of Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, and in an old heating factory in Stockholm. The core of the Recover Laboratory consists of three young, uncompromising women: circus artist Miradonna Sirkka, visual artist Sofi Häkkinen and experience designer Inna Huttunen. Together with the alternating performance-specific artists they invite you to come and experience art as it is - and as you are.
