Recover Laboratory 2014-2016

Recover Laboratory

Recover Laboratory changes regular spaces into experiential labyrinths, inviting the audience into spaces they normally have no access to.

Not to eat
Not to love
But only to slither

Recover Laboratory is a holistic art performance. It is participatory, at times physically interactive labyrinth, that you enter alone. It focuses on the audience as individuals. It combines contemporary art and circus creating a new kind of art concept that is ultimately a multi-sensory experience. It allows the viewer to be totally immersed in its world. Recover Laboratory is like a ritual, in which the guest can let go of their everyday self and consciously as well as unconsciously bite into questions that will stay with the them long after the show.

Recover Laboratory is a strongly site-specific performance and it is always re-created into a new space. It is a journey into human mind and it aims to fade the border between the performer and viewer: how to see each other stripped to their bare humanity.

Recover Laboratory is produced by Liukuakseen Company, an interdisciplinary artistic association. The non-profit association operates as an umbrella organization for different art productions. The core team of Recover Laboratory consists of director Miradonna Sirkka, artistic director Sofi Häkkinen and producer Inna Huttunen. The crew is chosen separately for each production.
