Temptation is a silent solo theatre piece on addiction, told through comedy. Its theme highlights how urges do not give in and how empowering it can be to overcome one's own cravings, or how we allow ourselves to enjoy a momentary pleasure by self-deception.
Sampo Kurppa works with the art forms of theatre and circus, where inanimate objects have characters and lives of their own and a piece of string becomes the new Swiss army knife.
Kurppa's solo performance is a veritable lesson in dark, contemporary clowning. Humble but surprisingly sinister, Sampo's expressive physical articulation will have you captivated from start to finish, and the dark corners of Temptation will have you biting your nails uncontrollably.
