Baby Dough

Circo Aereo

"Baby Dough is non-verbal absurd theatre saturated with humour. Cooperation between the musician, the juggler and the dancer is seamless."
Helsingin Sanomat 29.6.2003

"Juggler Maksim Komaro, dancer Sanna Silvennoinen and musician Markus Lahtinen form a lovely, charismatic trio. They conjure up on stage a warm-hearted and humorous little gem, glowing with the magic of circus and theatre."
Tanssi -lehti 3/2005

Critic's choice for an outstanding performance.
Dance Europe october 2005

Baby Dough is an exquisite and visually delicate performance where juggling, dance and music intertwine in an unprecedented way. The act consists of a series of solos, duets and trios that glide between different forms of expression. A juggler, a musician and a dancer play with gravity and their surroundings, creating illusions and a continuous interaction between bodies, music and objects that come alive.

Layer by layer, musician Markus Lahtinen creates the audio track of the performance during the act, combining the timbre of the contrabass with electronic instruments. The music of this one-man orchestra echoes a vast array of influences, ranging from electro to circus music.

In this performance, Circo Aereo continues to explore the possibilities of expression in circus art. The techniques of circus are approached through the methods of contemporary dance. In juggling, the focus is on variations in the qualities of movement in objects and bodies. The bodily aspect of circus artistry is sensitive beyond mere physicality.
