The Collectif MAD and Mad in Finland performance was created in 2012, when Elice Abonce Muhonen invited seven successful Finnish female circus artists to do a commissioned "carte blanche" performance at the Galapiat Cirque festival. The performers were united by a passionate circus profession and touring life outside Finland.
The performance was received with unexpected enthusiasm and so began a success story that has lasted for 10 years. The performance has been performed more than 150 times in France, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark, but only once in Finland. The show has already been seen by more than 55,000 viewers.
The Collectif MAD received the Finnish State Prize for Circus Arts in 2015.
