Sirkus Aikamoinen

Sirkus Aikamoinen is a Finnish contemporary circus company created in 2009. The core and the strength of Aikamoinen’s work is built from the combination of different elements they use: a large repertoire of circus disciplines and circus techniques, live music played by the artists on stage, and the strong bond and friendship between the artists of the group. In an era of individualism and specialization Aikamoinen promotes pluridisciplinarity and collective work.

Aikamoinen's previous work includes 12 full lenght circus performances: Skaala (2009, director Pasi Nousiainen), Aisti (2011, director Mattias Andersson. Aisti was a finalist in Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe / CircusNext 2010), Pluto Crazy (2012, director Sverre Waage. The show was a co-production with Norwegian Cirkus Xanti), The Land of the Happy (2014, director Maksim Komaro. The show was a co-production with Circo Aereo and Maracat Caravan), Dr. Natchez Trio (2015, a co-production with French Kohz Productions), Where do I start, where do I begin? (Solo by Oskar Rask, 2016), Metsä - The Forest Project (Duo by Sade Kamppila and Viivi Roiha, 2016) and DuoJag (2017, director Sanna Silvennoinen. A co-production with Maracat Caravan), Nahkanaama (Jouni Ruuth's solo, director Rauli Dahlberg, 2017), Circus I love you (a co-production with Circus I love you AB, Möjlighetsministeriet and Kozh Productions, 2018), Don’t Leave Me Hanging (a co-production with Circus Sabok, 2020) and Utopia (a co-production with Circus I love you AB, 2021)

During the years Aikamoinen has been performing with different projects around Finland, Sweden, Norway, France, Iceland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. Aikamoinen has provided shows for all aged people for theatres, festivals, events, company parties, schools, elderly homes, streets, forests and circus tents.

Co-operative Sirkus Aikamoinen (Swedish official name Andelslaget Cirkus Aikamåinen) is funded by Arts Promotion Centre Finland, the City of Helsinki and Svenska kulturfonden.
