CircusInfo Finland together with Subtopia organises in September an online pitching event in the context of the CirkusMania festival for programmers and venues in Stockholm region. In addition, CircusInfo compiles a catalogue of Finnish circus performances directed to venues in Sweden. The call is now open for the catalogue and the pitch hour.
For this pitching event, we are looking for circus performances that are suitable for theater stages as touring performances. The performance should be almost ready so that a full-length recording and promotional texts and images already exist. Performances that are in the Subcase cyber 2022 programme will not be chosen for this catalogue and event.
Companies and artists who work or receive funding from Finland can apply. One company can pitch one performance. Ten performances will be selected for the catalogue. Five of them will be selected also for the pitching event. In addition to performances, you can also suggest circus films to the catalogue. You can apply with both a performance and a film.
The pitching event takes place on September 19 at 3–4 pm online in Zoom. Each performance has a 10-minute slot in the event. This includes the duration of the trailer. After screening the trailer the artist or the representative of the company is interviewed shortly.The language of the pitching event is English. Participation in the pitching event requires preparation and participation also in the rehearsal on September 15 at 2 pm.
The catalogue includes basic information about each performance in Swedish and English. You can apply to the catalogue with Finnish, Swedish and/or English texts of the performance. We will translate the texts into Swedish or English if needed. Because the call had to be organized during the summer, we kindly ask you to fill in a printable version of the texts and the basic data already in the application.

Applicants will be informed of the selection by August 4, 2022. Images and the link to a full-length recording of the selected performances can be delivered by August 10, if these were not given in the application.
The CirkusMania festival is organized for the fourth time during February 10–19, 2023 in Stockholm and its surrounding municipalities. The festival is organised by Subtopia in cooperation with the venues and theatres of the Stockholm region. The venues choose the performances and are responsible for the arrangements. Companies make the contract directly with the venues. The deadline for venues to be part of the festival programme is Oct. 11, 2022. Subtopia is responsible for the coordination and communication of the festival. In 2022, the programme of CirkusMania included 28 performances plus films and a photo exhibition in 28 venues in 14 municipalities in the Stockholm region. We cannot guarantee your show will be booked. We don’t know beforehand how many participants from the venues will be online during the pitch hour.
